Finding Strength Through Creativity in Uncertain Times 💛

Hey sweet friends,

I've been thinking about you all a lot lately. With everything happening in our country right now, I know many of us are feeling overwhelmed, concerned, or maybe just plain exhausted by it all.

I've lived through many challenging periods, and I want to share something I've learned along the way: focusing on what you can control – your art and your creative career – can be incredibly empowering.

Permission to Create

Today, I'm giving you permission (and myself too!) to turn toward our creativity as a source of strength. It's not about ignoring what's happening in the world, but rather finding a healthy balance that allows us to:

  1. Process our feelings through our creative work

  2. Build something meaningful that brings us joy

  3. Connect with a community that understands and supports us

  4. Continue growing in areas where we can make tangible progress

The Power of Creative Focus

When the world feels chaotic, there's something profoundly centering about sitting down with your sketchbook, picking up a brush, or working on your latest digital creation. This focused attention becomes almost meditative – a space where you can breathe and remember who you are at your core.

Many members of my Facebook and Discord Groups tell me that our communities have become their sanctuary during difficult times. The combination of creative challenges, supportive community, and forward momentum provides something positive to look forward to each day.

Community Matters

We're fortunate to have each other. Being surrounded by fellow creatives who understand the unique journey of an artist is a gift – especially during uncertain times. Whether it's sharing your work, participating in our community discussions, or simply knowing you're not alone in your creative struggles, this connection is powerful medicine.

This Too Shall Pass

As Georgia O'Keeffe once said, "To create one's world in any of the arts takes courage." And that's what I see in all of you – courage to keep creating despite everything.

Remember that all periods of history, no matter how challenging, eventually give way to new chapters. While we navigate this one, let's hold onto what brings us meaning and joy.

Your creativity is not a frivolous distraction – it's a vital expression of your humanity and a light that others need right now.

I'm here creating alongside you, finding my own balance one day at a time.

With warmth and belief in you...

Hugs and kisses from Blume Bauer at The Yellow Studio.
